Printers and It, Welcome to Derry Ep 4
Morning all :)
So, I know this sounds like a complaint and what not, however, based on research it appears to be a very shared frustration. The printer I use for my books sorely lacks reliable customer service. I completely understand, fully accept that files can be uploaded, e-proof look amazing, and then once the proof arrives in physical form there are several issues. This occurred with the hardcover of The Heart of the North. The dust jacket was off by a quarter of an inch and the hardcover was roughly the same; thus had to reload it. That isn’t the issue, it happens. The frustration comes from the days and days it takes for the printer to reply to emails. Their service says “2 days”, but it has been over a week now, apparently not a new delay. I understand companies can become bogged down, working in customer service myself I completely sympathize. Having said that, as a self-published author - especially with my first novel - faster communication with the printer would be an immense help.
Alright, It, Welcome to Derry Ep 4 time. As always, there will be SPOILERS!!!
Now, this was a mixed episode: great, cringy, and slow burn. Real fast, the cringy…oh the eyes scene… That was so unnerving, lol. The slow burn was just classic middle of the season and they need to stretch it a bit. Can’t have everything spelled out at once right? I can live with it as long as the show delivers. Besides, we did get to finally somewhat see Pennywise, at least their silhouette beside a tree, watching Will Hanlon.
Now, if I’m understanding the last 10 minutes correctly - I was very tired, lol - we finally have an explanation on why It cannot - does not? - leave Derry. Anyone who read the book know this isn’t very expounded upon. The series states this was due to Native Americans using part of the “shell” It arrived to the land later known as Derry in millions of years ago. Thus It is trapped in the western wood, which, apparently, Derry was later built upon. Cool theory, but unless they provide an explanation later on, its inconsistent with later occurrences. For example, It enlists the services of Henry Bowers when they were in Juniper Hill and possibly assisted in Stan’s suicide (debatable on that one). Of course, it could be that It can psychically connect to others beyond Derry, but cannot hurt them physically? Hopefully we’ll have an explanation on that one.
That’s all folks :)
Have a great day,
Patrick
