TV Shows & Holidays

Morning,

So, this Rambling will be loaded for sure. Some parts I’ll speed through, others will be a bit longer. These are Ramblings afterall…

I hope you’re all having a safe and and fun holiday weekend! All of this was delayed because it’s Thanksgiving week.

TV Shows - SPOILERS!

It, Welcome to Derry Ep. 5 was great as normal, more of what we’ve come to expect from this series. Finally got to see the Pennywise form and it definitely delivered. Was great to see the character again! I actually only have one question from this episode: not where are the meteor objects in the films (they’re not in the book, so, sure, whatever), but what the crap is in the damn box in Halloran’s head?! Pennywise opens it and Halloran goes absolutely nuts and see a dead Pauly when he exits the sewers at the end of the episode. Better answer this one quickly!

Stranger Things Season 5. So, the first four episodes have been released. Reminder that there will be spoilers in this Rambling. Very different feel this season, not a bad thing mind you. The previous 4 seasons always had a reintroduction to the characters and a slow burn, not this time. In season 5 we hit the ground running, we know the characters and its final battle time. You’ll be moving along at a brisk pace and some people might not be pleased with it. I liked the changeup, though there are questions I have that I doubt they’ll answer: Why are so few families allowed to remain behind when Hawkins is clearly a ghost town compared to what it once was? All of a sudden breathing in the Upside Down is fine whereas it was an issue in seasons 1 & 2? Definitely not deal breaking questions for me, but something I was thinking about.

Returns: Number 8 (sister from season 2). I personally didn’t mind her story from season 2 and was glad to see her back. Max!!!!!!!!! Woo!!!! Her physical form is still in a coma but her psyche lives on in who I believe is Vecna’s world. But Max did say it’s a prison, and the only prisoner is Number 8 (sealed away by the gov in the Upside Down, just watch it, lol). I’m in a debate right now with someone about this part. I believe the prison Max is sealed away in involves both Vecna and Number 8. Vecna for sure as there’s a cave he’s scared to death to approach, Max resides within it, but I believe it involves where he first discovered Dimension X as a child in the prequel to Stranger Things. But also, because Number 8 excels at conjuring different realities. But we’ll see.

Big events: glad to see the kids stepping up and being who they are. Mike truly emerged as a leader. But the largest spoiler is Wil kicking ass! He finally harnesses his psychic abilities, takes control of a handful of Demagorgon’s, and kills them. It. Was. Awesome.

Predictions for last 4 episodes. Something I considered when first finished season 1 years ago, but El will never be able to live in the real world. This thought now encompasses Number 8, Will, Hop, and most of the others. My thoughts involve this new created reality and the Upside Down. Perhaps they’ll be merged when the show ends? And some of them leave this reality to go live in this new world?

Have a safe holiday weekend,

Patrick :)
